Never Pay for Textbooks again.

My first quarter, I had no idea what I was doing, and had to purchase 3 textbooks. The total came out to over $300. Yet, the books were only used once or twice a week, and at the end of the quarter when I took the books back to the store, they offered around $20 each for the books.

Needless to say, I started thinking of ways to go around this scam.

The next quarter, I started talking to my peers, and a few recommended "Amazon". I purchased my books online this time, YET I still ended up paying over $200. After comparing online prices and bookstore prices, the prices for most books were almost equal, and after shipping any savings were marginal.

I began to devise ways to obtain my books for free. I began to ask friends, I would ask on internet message boards, I would drive around to various bookstores.
For my 3rd quarter and beyond, I had come up with the perfect strategy.
Never again would I pay for any textbooks, when I can obtain them for FREE!

I've put all my information, and the steps I took in my ebook "Never Pay for Textbooks Again".
Fellow NSCC student, take the time to read my ebook - written for the North Seattle Student, BY a North Seattle student.

I realized that I never really need to pay for textbooks. For the past two quarters of school, I have not laid a cent on a bookstore’s counter. As I see it, there is no reason for any student to ever pay for textbooks, ever again. Here are my simple steps to attain free textbook access:

It's only $2.00 [Help a poor college kid out lol], yet provides ample information on obtaining your textbooks for free. I spent hours compiling my Ebook, and hope that it saves you alot of money in the long run, just as it has saved me.
[Simply Click on the "Buy Now" button at the top of the webpage , and after your payment - You'll automatically be given a link to download the Ebook in (.pdf) file format =) MAKE SURE TO ENTER YOUR CORRECT EMAIL WHEN IT ASKS FOR IT

As a faculty member at North, I've always been opposed of the unethical practices used by the bookstore. If possible, I've tried to avoid requiring students to purchase textbooks, and if truly needed, I have always recommended alternatives such as: Amazon, Ebay, and Craigslist. After reading your eBOOK, I've found alot of information very useful, and would like to share this information with my students (with your permission). In the future I will be referring all of my students to your page; Thank you for providing such a great product.

Useless Advisors.

I do NOT recommened using the advisors on campus if you are planning on going a specific route.
If transferring to a 4 year university is your focus, I recommend going to the universitys' site and looking at the courses that other students of your "major" are taking.
Many programs at the University of Washington, along with other 4 year schools, require certain pre-reqs - WHICH THE ADVISORS DO NOT KNOW!
The advisors will simply recommend any random class that fits a requirement for your degree and tell you it's ok.

Many schools in Washington (UPS, SU, UW) do NOT accept the DTA. Even if you complete your 90 credits and recieve your AA, you will NOT automatically be accepted as a Junior standing.
Make sure that your classes will TRANSFER to the school you plan on transferring too.

I see too many kids simply taking any old class; even if a class is listed as a "transfer class" on the NSCC coursebook, the school you hope to transfer too may or may not accept those credits.

Spring Quarter Registration

Spring Quarter registration has started, and many classes are already full.
Register early, otherwise you'll end up with a subpar schedule -
Apparently this next quarter is supposed to be one of the most populated quarters (over-enrolled), with too many students and too little classes.
Make the right choices when you register!
If you still haven't decided on your classes, I'll provide a few recommendations
